Copper precision machining
People engaged in precision machining all like aluminum precision machining, copper precision machining, which is the copper aluminum we usually like to process. So is copper and aluminum really that easy to process? Do we really understand precision machining of copper materials?
There are many types of copper materials, and common copper materials are generally classified by color and can be roughly divided into the following four categories:
The first type is brass, which is generally an alloy copper material based on copper and zinc elements. Common grades include H62/H59, etc;
The second type is red copper, which often refers to pure copper, including oxygen free copper, red copper, etc;
The third type is bronze, which refers to copper based alloys other than copper nickel and copper zinc alloys. The main varieties include tin bronze, aluminum bronze, special bronze, etc;
The fourth type is white copper, also known as copper nickel alloy copper material.
Copper material has high prices, strong plasticity, and good thermal conductivity. Ordinary brass material is the most commonly used material, with slightly weaker strength but easy processing. This is also the best copper alloy material for precision machining of copper materials.
Other types of copper materials are more expensive than brass. Due to their different material compositions, there are often phenomena such as knife sticking, high toughness, and difficulty in processing during the processing. Therefore, not all copper alloy materials are easy to precision process copper materials.
